I'm on a Mission

From  to

I currently live in the Washington, D.C. area. I have been here for nearly eight years now. I came to Washington, D.C. right after college: bright eyed, idealistic, and happy to live in the same city as my sister who worked on Capitol Hill at the time.

Four years ago, my sister and her husband left Washington, D.C. to live in Bend, Oregon. I currently have no family in the city, and my friends are a transient group: here for a few years and on to somewhere else. Add my eight years in Washington, D.C. to the four I spent in Boston for college, and I have logged nearly a dozen years on the east coast, following my humble upbringing in a sparsely populated corner of Montana. I always told myself I would move back West, but I was never sure when that would be. Now, that time has come.

I have eight years of work experience under my belt, a newly-acquired Master's degree, a neurotic cat, and a wonderful husband (also recently acquired) who is willing to relocate to the other side of the country with me and set down some roots. The only place that really appeals to us is Portland, Oregon.

Now, I just have to figure out how to get out there a) in one piece, b) without going broke, and c) as soon as possible.

This is my story.
